1/2 Size Custom Kocheff Violin Outfit [2007]
Includes New Case and New Carbon Fibre Bow
Condition: New
Kocheff violins are typically only ever available in 4/4 size but this one was comissioned by Rhiannon for her son who has decided not to play violin this year.
This handmade Bulgarian violin was crafted in the style of Stradivari.
Since the Kocheff workshop does not usually make smaller violins, even the makers were pleasantly surprised when they strung it up and heard it the first time. Such big tone is not heard in most instruments of this size.
This little violin has a HUGE sound, suitable for a talented young soloist or very confident player who wants more than what an average little violin produces.
The Kocheff is beautifully antiqued in honey browns and golds and is finished with high quality ebony fittings (except metal tailpiece with built-in fine tuners for small hands).
Compled with Vision Titanium strings and a deluxe French-made maple bridge.
It comes with a Blue Tabary prism carbon fiber bow and a skookum, heavy duty case. I wouln't put it in a cheap case and the high-end cases are not made for 1/2 size violins, so this one had to do.
It also has a removable "Strad Pad" chinrest cover (see photos).
