Primo Violino: Providing a better first instrument

So you're just starting out and don't want to spend a fortune on your first violin. BUT you want something nicer than the cheapie outfits you've seen on Ebay or the pawn shop?

We are proud to bring the Primo Violino to our customers. These affordable and attractive student instruments are a definite jump up from any budget model, hands down. In fact, we have discontinued our previous Budget violin to make way for this better violin at a better price!

What helps these instruments stand apart from others in the beginner range is the finishing touches. Unlike the typical plastic-like gloss finishes, the Primo Violino is finished in a smooth, satin and nicely antiqued finish. Nicer woods and the far more attractive antiqued finish make for a much more luxurious violin for the price.

To best explain the importance of setup and strings, imagine a sportscar. Setup is the fine tuning of the car, to make sure all the parts are aligned and firing properly. The strings are like the tires. So, if you imagine a fine vehicle with a bad tuneup and bald tires being compared to the same style car with specialised improvements and performance tires, you get the picture.

As a teacher herself, Fiddleheads' owner Rhiannon Schmitt highly recommends an option with detailed setup and perlon strings to get the most of the violin, but also understands budget may be a limiting factor.

Thus we have two options for all budgets:

BASIC "FACTORY" OPTION

"Factory" setup as it comes to us: Includes economy level steel strings, nickel fine tuners OR wittner style tailpiece (as shown in photo).

Also a Brazilwood bow, rosin and canvas covered case with exterior pocket and complimentary backpack strap.

"DELUXE" UPGRADED SETUP OPTION

The B level gets the most out of the acoustical potential of the Primo Violino.

Setup by our shop with even more attention to detail and including $55 French-made Corelli Crystal perlon strings (other strings by request, such as Thomastik Dominants for extra cost).

The better quality ebony fittings are fitted and polished. Your choice of one or four fine tuners.

Finished with better quality student rosin and the canvas covered case with exterior pocket and complimentary backpack strap.
