Unfortunately for many families these days finances are very tight, making buying a violin difficult or even impossible. But income bracket shouldn't stop someone from starting out on violin so we introduce a new budget-level first instrument to get players going!

Fiddleheads has responded to customer demand to provide a highly affordable entry-level violin/fiddle addition to our Primo line: The Primo "Fiddlestix."

Ok, we want to be very clear that the Fiddlestix is nothing fancy. This outfit serves the sole purpose of getting a beginner started until s/he knows violin is a real passion and worthwhile of saving up for a better instrument. Players who have already played for a while are best off upgrading to a higher level instrument.

Keeping with the factory's adjustments/setup and stock student strings makes our price on the Fiddlestix our lowest-priced outfit yet. Our sale prices makes purchasing cheaper than renting for even just three or four months, allowing players to save up for the next upgrade.

As a small luxury, these instruments offer your choice between two varnish colours:

Vivacious Scarlet Red		Heritage Sepia Brown
Romantics adore "Vivacious Scarlet Red," a blend of firey red with glowing orange accents. Very lightly antiqued and a semi-gloss finish. Make a statement with your own red violin.		Reminiscent of old-world instruments, "Heritage Sepia Brown," is brown with golden highlights. The top is nicely antiqued with a dark grain pattern and a matte finish. Folksy and classic.

Setup

All instruments are finished with highly renewable hardwood date-wood fittings. Note all new Heritage Sepia Brown models (2012) are setup with ebony fittings (size 4/4).

"Factory" setup* is as it comes to us from the makers. Each violin arrives ready to play (bridge up, strings tuned, bow rosined) with stock steel strings and your choice of fine tuners on one or all four strings.

Each Outfit/Kit Includes

Violin - in your choice of size, varnish option of Vivacious Scarlet Red and Heritage Sepia Brown. Arrives bridge up, ready to play.

Optional Fine Tuners - Select to have one fine tuner on the E-string or all four fine tuners. Fine Tuners are helpful for less experienced players to tune the instrument rather than using the wooden pegs.

Bow - Economy level Brazilwood round stick bow (new stock with datewood frog). The bow arrives rosined and ready to use. Just remember to tighten it before play and loosen it when you are finished playing. (Turn right to tighten, left to loosen).

Rosin - You will need to apply this to the bow air in short strokes every 2 weeks or as needed (when the bow is not "grabbing" the strings as well).

Case - Black canvas-covered lightweight shaped case with light blue velour interior. Also includes violin tie down strap (to protect your violin falling out if you forget to zip the case), interior and exterior pockets and convenient backpack straps.

**Upgrade to a package to add books and an electronic metronome/tuner.
