2006 Fiddleheads Christmas Recital

Read the Lakeshore News Featured Cover Story on the 2006 Fiddleheads Violin School Christmas Recital

A handful of Fiddleheads Violin School students ages 5 to 70+ played for an appreciative audience at their Christmas Recital at Salmon Arm's SAGA Gallery on December 16.

The event was hosted by Fiddleheads Violin School & Shop, which recently won the "People's Choice" award at the Salmon Arm Business Excellence Awards. (BC, Canada)

Fiddleheads instructor and owner Rhiannon Schmitt donated all proceeds (over $100) to the Salmon Arm Food Bank in addition to two large baskets of food items which were provided by herself, her students and the audience.

Schmitt encourages others to clear out their pantries to help this very essential community program.

Pre-Event Press Release

December 16 promises to be a very musical evening.  The Fiddleheads Violin School Christmas Recital takes place at the SAGA Public Art Gallery soon after the CPR Christmas Train leaves town.

The popular holiday recital features violin and viola students of all ages from the award-winning school led by violinist and fiddler Rhiannon Schmitt, who will also perform.  The new, younger generation of the Fiddleheads Violin Ensemble, in its sixth season, will be featured as well.

The recital starts at 7pm on Saturday, December 16 and runs until 8:30 pm.  The public is welcome to attend for an admission of only $4 or for the donation of  two or more cans of food for the Salmon Arm Food Bank.
